Complete Guide to Delegating NYM Tokens

A comprehensive step-by-step guide to stake your NYM tokens and earn rewards

Acquire Native NYM Tokens

First, you need native NYM (on the Nyx chain, wallet addresses start with n1…) to delegate. You can either buy it directly on an exchange, or swap other crypto into native NYM.

Option 1: Buy on an exchange

Bitfinex trades native NYM, so you can buy it and withdraw straight to your Nym wallet. The other exchanges below list ERC-20 NYM on Ethereum, which can't be delegated directly.

Option 2: Swap into native NYM

Already hold BTC, USDT, ATOM or other crypto? Swap it for native NYM using one of these services:

Use the built-in Swap tab in the Keplr extension or app. Choose NYM on the Nym chain as the destination and it lands in the same wallet you delegate from.

Important Tip: Ensure you have enough NYM for both delegation and transaction fees. Only native NYM can be delegated. ERC-20 NYM from Ethereum-based exchanges has to be bridged first, so buying on Bitfinex or swapping via the services above is the simplest route.

Set Up Your Nym Wallet

Download and install the official Nym Wallet from the official Nym website. Follow the setup instructions carefully and securely store your recovery phrase in a safe location.

Security First: Never share your private keys or recovery phrase with anyone. Consider using a hardware wallet for maximum security.

Delegate Your NYM Tokens

You have three options to delegate your NYM tokens:

Option 1: Through Nym Wallet

Open your Nym Wallet, navigate to the Delegation section, select your chosen node (paste the identity key, not ID), specify the amount, and confirm the transaction.

Option 2: Through Nym Explorer

Visit the official Nym Explorer, connect your Kepler wallet, and delegate to any node directly from the explorer interface.

Option 3: Direct Delegation on This Page

Connect your Kepler wallet on the Nodes page and delegate to our nodes with one click.

Monitoring: Track your delegation and rewards in your Nym Wallet. Rewards are distributed periodically based on your node's performance. You can also monitor all activity through our dedicated app after connecting your Keplr wallet.
